It’s good practice to change your password on a regular basis and this is especially true for email. If I host your website or you have your own hosting with Siteground follow these instructions to change your password.
Table of Contents
Step 1: Login to the Siteground webmail client.
To do this go to https://your-website-name.co.uk/webmail replacing your-website-name.co.uk with your own domain name. You then need to enter your email address and password.
If you have forgotten your password and I host your website please get in touch and I can reset this for you. If you have your own account with Siteground you will need to open a support call with them and work through their security checks.
Step 2: Click on Login Credentials in the let hand navigation menu
As shown below, once you have logged into your account, you will see on of the options on the left is LOGIN CREDENTIALS. When you click on this you will see an option to enter your new password.
Step 3: Enter your new password and then press Submit
Enter your new password twice and then press Submit. You should then see the message
Step 4: Logout and Log back in again
You don’t have to do this but it’s a good way to double check the new password has taken effect and if you use a password manager (and you should), it’s a good time to make sure it has recorded your new password before you forget it.
Step 5: Update your email client software
If you use a software such as Outlook, MacMail or Thunderbird you are now going to need to update the password in that software to match your new password. The details vary greatly between Operating Systems, Applications and Versions. In many cases they will pop-up to say the password they have is wrong and then give you a chance to enter the new password.
